Most people flop at legitimate online marketing because they’re in such a rush to cash in (which is, of course, precisely what cyber-scammers and con artists depend on). I myself have not achieved wealth — yet. But that’s because I haven’t learned everything there is to know — yet. What…
With Clickbank it is hard to find a product you can promote as you have to be aware of the junk on Clickbank and many eBooks on the Clickbank marketplace are absolute junk.
With Amazon you can see what product you are selling, if you are selling a dog lead for example you can see how it looks, and you can have a good idea if the dog lead is a good one. Another thing is you can look up a few reviews and see if the lead is good, people aren’t likely to lie about a dog lead as there is nothing in it for them.
With Clickbank this process is very hard. First you cannot judge a book by it’s cover. If you are trying to sell an e-book you can only go by the cover and the few reviews you can find. When looking for reviews it can be hard to find a reliable source. People lie about e-Book especially if they are trying to sell one as there is something in it for them.
So these two points can make it really hard to find a reliable Clickbank product, people want money, some are desperate and so create crappy books just for profit. Thankfully there are some good eBooks on the Clickbank marketplace, and you can find some people who give truthful reviews.
One: Look to bloggers who don’t want your money. If you see a good review that sounds too good to be true and has an affiliate link below it, it usually means they just want your money. If you find a review and it doesn’t immediately contain an affiliate link it normally means they are telling the truth.
Two: Too good to be true. You’ll earn one million in one year, you’ll be rich in no time, you’ll lose all your unwanted weight in a week, quit smoking in a week, theses are claims you hear and they are just not true stay away from these eBooks. You will never find an eBook that makes you a millionaire in a year, stops you smoking in a week, or lose
miraculous amounts of weight in a month. People claiming to know some sort of ‘secret’ is probably lying. For example ten ‘secrets’ blogging gurus do not tell you.
Three: Credibility and instinct. Go by your common sense, you should know whether something is up, or if something is too good to be true. Credibility is also a massive part of it. One blogger I follow is Pot pie girl, if she recommended an eBook I would believe her simply because she has created credibility. Do you trust the person advertising the eBook, if not, don’t promote the eBook.
I often look at the commission rate and the average sell, yes content is king and all the rest but you also want to make some money too. There is no point selling a great eBook when you’ll only get $3 per sale.
One week marketing by PotPieGirl is a great example of a great quality eBook with a great commission rate and a high selling price.
To find products on the Clickbank marketplace you’ll need to create a Clickbank account. Log in and go to where it says Marketplace and search a topic in the search bar.
Once you find a good looking product with a suitable commission and price you can start looking for reviews, look for reviews from people who aren’t trying to sell the eBook to you, I find asking on forums or Facebook groups is best, just ask people their opinion on the eBook.
I am a writer on Squidoo, a great site that allows you to create free webpages on the web. I am just another person trying to make money online, I have always liked to write and have always wanted to write my own book.
Click bank is another free site that allows you to earn money, you become an affiliate of Clickbank, essentially you work for them, you sell their products and they give you a commission on anything you make! Anyone can sell their product on Clickbank, other people like me, come along and promote that product, we get a split, the owner of the product gets a split, everyone wins :).
For example the owner of an eBook puts their product up for anyone to promote on Clickbank, their eBook is about ‘how to raise a kitten’. So you are creating a website about cats and you see that product. It will go nicely with your website so you promote it.
Now the owner of that product can set the commission as high as 75% so the eBook is $50 and you sell a copy on your website or blog you will get around $37, the owner will also get a cut.
That the simple idea behind Clickbank, everyone wins. The only downside is: 1. You actually need to make sales. 2. You need a website/blog.
One of these is true, yes you need to make sales on Clickbank to make money, Clickbank won’t be donating to you if you get no sales. But number two is only slightly true. Yes a website/blog would help - but you actually don’t need one.
Here is where Squidoo comes in, Squidoo is a great site that allow you to create free webpages, yes you heard me free. No cash out of your pocket and you can actually make some money. The great thing about Squidoo is it allows you to promote Clickbank products.
So problem one solved, you don’t need a website/blog, but there is still the overwhelming possibility that after putting a few ‘lenses’ (Squidoo articles) up you won’t get any sales. Sales don’t come naturally, neither does traffic, you need to do promotion, then you’ll get traffic, and then after that sales.
My name is Ash Keogh and I created this blog to organise all of my lenses in one place and to give you some Squidoo tips and things I learn on the way. I hope you enjoy reading my posts and quotes that can all be applied to blogging. I was also post some pictures from my lenses.
